My Grandfather’s Grave By Dmitri Allicock

My Grandfather’s :Grave

By Dmitri Allicock

Rustling leaves and gently breeze
Soft whispers and mind at ease
Guavas branches and two doves
Watching my grandfather’s grave from above
Looking beyond where Harpy Eagles fly

Dear land of Guyana arches the sky
Cloudland with crystal waters serene
Sweetest fruits and pastures green
Foggy shores then grandfather’s corial appear
Smiling face unchanged after years
Magical sounds and airily echoes
Waving hands so lovingly glows

Memories of family and splendors of Earth
Those treasured moments that gave us worth
Disappearing fog yet we must part
But will always live in eternal heart
